I'm looking for links/ideas for giving a brief intro to the iSeries for some of the unenlightened ones within my IT dept. We have a core of iSeries programmers who know the system well, but to everyone else it is just a black box.. even the techies, which is a frightening thought. There has been quite a turnover of staff too which has resulted in a kind of those in the know and those not.
What I'm trying to pull together is a brief intro to iSeries that covers most of the day to day bases and doesn't go too deep. It's a mixed audience of techs, windows coders and management. I'm looking at these topics for starters
Users
Jobs & job queues
Subsystems
Output queues & printers
Messages
Database & file system
Programs
Backups
A couple of slides on each which I can then relate to their likely roles. I found this at IBM which is good for understanding jobs.
Has anyone got anything else like this, or any ideas on what to put in?
Thanks
