Well Emmanuel... I was able to create the Physical File using CRTF with RCDLEN 199. But, when I tried to use the CPYSPLF functions, after several attempts to populate the screen options, a system message appeared at the bottom of the screen "Waiting for reply to message on message queue QSYSSOPR". After waiting for almost an hour and loosing my patience, I clicked on the Disconnect button to "cancel" the AS400 session. Could you please tell me what "Waiting for reply to message on message queue QSYSSOPR" means and how can I avoid it to get to the next phase you suggested: "CPYTOSTMF"? I am no idea about this AS400.

    Thanks for your help.
    Al

"Waiting for reply to message on message queue QSYSSOPR" means there's a message on the QSYSOPR message queue that must be answered. Is this a large spooled file? If so, it may contain more rows than you allowed on your CRTPF command. In IBM Navigator for i, expand System and click System Operator Messages. That should show you the pending message.

Or, using the command line: DSPMSG QSYSOPR

JTaylor is probably correct that it's a file full message.

        Cheers,

        Emmanuel
