Is there a way to turn off the automatic indenting in CL

  • #2
In RDi - go to WIndows -> Preferences

Then 'Remote Systems -> IBM i -> Remote Systems LPEX Editor -> CL

Clear the check on Automatic indent.

Now for the inevitable stupid question... why do you want to remove the auto indenting?

I don't mind using it for a new program. But if I am modifying an existing program that is not indented and I am only adding 3 or 4 line of code, I don't want 3 or 4 lines of new code indented and the rest not indented.

I've been known to add a space to all of the lines so the editor formats the lines...

What is rather peculiar is that I can't seem to get the LPEX editor to automatically indent free format RPG code. I didn't see an option in PREFERENCES to turn it on or off . So, I have to highlight the code and press CRTL+SHIFT F

Rather than the CL above - take ILE RPG -> Formatter

There is the identification for free-form source.
