  • V5R4M0 compatible with V7R1MO

Does anyone know if I can get stuff built on V5R4M0 to run on V7R1M0?
    Thanks,

as long as your programs are observable they will convert with no issues. if observability has been removed a simple recompile will suffice...unless it's vendor software. you need to make sure that your vendor software is v6.1 compliant and once that is done you're all set for v6.1 or v7.1

Can I ask then about going the other way? I could assume that if you have a 7.1 system you can compile and change target release back to run on V5R4? I'm thinking we will use of Dev machine for testing the upgrade for a while but we need to be able to send compiled objects to the Prod machine still on the old release.
