  • STRPDM Command Basics

When we use the STRPDM command we get a list containing 7 menu items.

    These are,
    *Work with the libraries
    *Work with objects
    *Work with members.
    *Work with projects.
    *Work with groups.
    *Work with parts.
    *Work with user defined options.

The functionality of the first three menus are well known to me but the remaining 4 menu items,
viz; work with projects, work with groups,
work with parts and work with user defined options are not clear to me.
Can anyone please help me out regarding the functionality of these menu items..

    Re: STRPDM Command Basics

work with projects, groups & parts are an "old" attempt by IBM to use change management.
I think I actually used it somewhere long ago.. You actually had to pay for it.

User defined objects allow you to define pdm options this is a good start to learn

        Re: STRPDM Command Basics

I tend to use some of the commands that take me there more quickly.

Example: instead of strpdm, then option #2 -- wrkobjpdm
Instead of strpdm, then option #3 -- wrkmbrpdm

I use WDSC but also wrkmbrpdm to a great extent.

wrkobjpdm -- to clean up stray junk from time to time
