  • Numeric Field Display

I have a numeric field (10Y 2) in a display file. When I enter a negative number, say 512-, after I enter '-' using Numpad, it automatically converts '-' into '}' and when I hit enter, it displays as 512-. What should be done to ensure that '-' is retained and '}' is not getting displayed when the Numpad '-' is used. Thanks

As far as I know, the behavior of the field minus key is controlled by the emulator and not the program, so if you must use the field minus key instead of the regular minus key to enter a negative number, then remap the field minus key to be another regular minus key.

Try 10S 2 (not Y) and use FIELD- key.

Using the S data type would be a good solution for a number with zero decimal positions, but for numbers with decimal positions you won't be able to see the decimal point because you can't edit the field.
