I am working on a program which will use the 'runrmtcmd' command to ftp an Excel spreadsheet from a PC. The problem I am having is with the contents of the spool file created by the command.
I had expected it file to contain all the lines displayed by FTP while it is running. But I an only getting the lines from my script, not the "226 File transfer completed successfully" or the "ftp: 57 bytes received ..." I planned on using the presence of lines like this as confirmation that the transfer was successful.
Is this a quirk with ftp, or is there something I need to do to have the lines included in the spool file.
