  • how to put an ' in prtf

I cant remember how to do this but when i am typing a ' in a print file how? I thought it was like ''', 3 of them?

Within a literal, it should be two single quotes. If you want to start/stop a literal with a single quote, it would be three. A literal that is only a single quote would be four.

Basically, a pair of single quotes gives you one quote.

You haven't given us any context, here/ I think jtaylor assumes you mean that you are doing this in a character string that is populated from RPG or CL (both of which use the doubled quotes method of escaping quote marks). If you're doing this from another language, though, it may be different. For example, in C, Java, JavaScript and many other languages, you use a backslash to escape quote marks.

I was assuming literals within a DDS PRTF.
