This may help with PDF.

As for Excel, I have built stream files in IFS, but it hasn't been worth the effort in most cases. Scott Klement has some good stuff for this.

Most of the time, I build CSV files. It's much easier and quicker on my end and usually sufficient for the user's needs. I have a scripting language that makes quick work of creating CSV files from spooled files.

Re: Convert spool to PDF or Excel format
If you're on i7.1, check to see if you have Product 5770TS1 option 01, the IBM Transform Services installed. It is a no-charge feature included with the OS, but it may not be installed on your system. If not installed, if you have the distribution disks for the OS it looks like this service is on B_GROUPx_04, according to this IBM information:
Then you'll be able to use CPYSPLF... TOFILE(*STMF)... TOSTMF('myifspath') WCST(*PDF). Also you'll be able to view spoolfiles that are in an OUTQ as PDFs if you use IBM Navigator for i.
