ESEND/ESNDMAIL question

I'm trying to find out two things:
?When I use ESEND/ESNDMAIL, is there any way for me to when that email has been responded to?
?Is there any way to tell if the same email was sent successfully ?

I don't know the answer to the first question, although I don't think there is, at least not within the ESEND utility.

The answer to the second question is to use the WRKSMTPEMM command if you're on 7.3 or greater. You must have *IOSYSCFG special authority to use this command. Also, I think you have to have the DIRTYPE parameter of the Change SMTP Attributes (CHGSMTPA) command be a value of *SMTP or *SMTPMSF to make it work. The alternative if you can't use WRKSMTPEMM is to turn on email journalling (CHGSMTPA JOURNAL(*YES)) and look at the QUSRSYS/QZMF journal entries, although those can be rather cryptic.
