  • Backwards compatiblity from 7.3 to 6.1

Our shop is currently on OS 7.2 . I have been able to keep our clients on OS 6.1 happy by changing the compile option on the CRTBNDCBL command to set the target release to 6.1.
    example: CHGCMDDFT CMD(CRTBNDCBL) NEWDFT( 'TGTRLS(V6R1M0)')
We are upgrading to 7.3. Does anyone know if I will still have the ability to set the target release to 6.1 or does this capability go away with 7.3.

Thanks in advance for your help,

    John

It goes away - from our V7R3 system:

    CRTBNDCL:
    Specify Value for Parameter TGTRLS

    Type choice, press Enter.

    Type . . . . . . . . . . . . . : SIMPLE NAME
    Target release . . . . . . . . . *CURRENT

    *CURRENT
    *PRV
    V7R1M0
    V7R2M0
    V7R3M0

    Cheers,

    Emmanuel

IBM supports compiling to the current release and the prior two releases.
