  • How do I enable IBM i Support for Windows access

I'm getting this message from the I5. I checked the KXXXX profile and it is enabled. How can I enabled IBM i Support access for this user?

    Thanks,

    DAC

Re: How do I enable IBM i Support for Windows access

When you say "I checked the KXXXX profile and it is enabled" do you mean you checked whether it was disabled for NetServer ("Network Neighborhood") access? Or do you mean you checked whether it's enabled for 5250 signon?

If you checked whether it's enabled for 5250, and discovered that it's still enabled, that's no surprise. Being disabled for NetServer is different from being disbaled for 5250.

To reenable it, you can do a CHGUSRPRF (or WRKUSRPRF, option 2) and then just hit enter. You don't have to change anything, simply running the command will re-enable it for NetServer.

The other way (which also would let you check if it's disabled) is to use IBM i Navigator.
