    Hello,

I just installed wrkdbf. 2 words , love it. Unfortunately the only bad thing is it doesn't show the logicals that are included with the physical file. Does anyone know the command to show all of the logicals that are associated with the physical file? I am also going to email the person in the wrkdbf document and ask them if they can add that command to the next release.

    Thanks,

    David C

          Re: wrkdbf

I also love the wrkdbf program. You should be able to see the associated logicals my using the DSPDBR(*YES) parameter on the WRKDBF command. You will be presented with a list of logicals and can additionally use the F17 function key to display/hide key fields. Options on this display will allow you to select the file or one of the logicals to work with, display a list of fields or print a list of fields and attributes.

Also note that if you have multiple members in a file there is the MBR(*SELECT) parameter that will display a list of available members and you can select one to work with.

          What a great free tool!

I would still like them to release the code to the program so I can enhance it. If that ever happens let me know.

              Thanks,

I've read great reviews for this WRKDBF utility but unfortunately the website no longer seems available to download (www.wrkdbf.com). Is it possible that someone might be able to email the utility or provide another url where the download is available.

                Thanks

                  Sure,

Send me your email address and I will send you the code. You can then upload the programs to your ISeries, compile them and run the program.

Thanks for this. Is the object list complete, tried using undelete and object UNDELM cannot be found? Also is the source code available as getting array errors when trying to amend records with large data fields.

                        Thanks

Jason -- No the source was never available and he said he would never give it out.
I believe the UNDELM is compiled as owner QSECOFR so when you install it you may not have authority.
