  • Library not authorized

    I a'm new to this:
When adding a new user to be able to use one of our systems, I have given him the right authority to the objects. But he get the message CPF9820 = Not authorized to the library.

How do I give the actuall user authority to a library ???

      Thank you for the answer.
I have used the EDTOBJAUT command to change the authority to the objects. How do I use it to change the authority to yhe library itselfs? It seems to me that the command always requires an object name.
This kind of problems are quite new to me.

            Re: Library not authorized

Depending on how your libraries/objects are organised we do this:
            • Set the Library aurity to PUBLIC(*EXCLUDE)
            • Change the objects inside the library to have PUBLIC(*ALL)
            • Add an *AUTL to the libraries authority as *ALL or *USE etc as required
            • enrol users into the *AUTL

makes maintenance much easier, with user GROUPS or AUTL's

              Re: Library not authorized

FWIW, a library is just another type of object. All library objects (*LIB) exist in the system library, QSYS. So to refer to an object that is a library, you qualify it like this: QSYS/yourlibname.
