    Explain more.

    1) you want to connect to a 400 and run a command there? If so you can use FTP and the QUOTE function. Much better.

i agree! RUNRMTCMD is not a bad way to go but using FTP gives you more flexibility...

        Bhartiya:

If your machines are connected you can also use Pass-Through
        Look into the strpasthr/endpasthr commands.

Probably not applicable but look into telnet from the pc.
        Start/Run telnet OTHERAS400

Again all of this depends on how the machines are connected

Thanks to all for the inputs !!!

PLease tell what is your view about the command SBMRMTCMD. Can I use this command for my purpose. The only thing that I need to do for using it is to create a DDM file first.

          Please suggest......

          Thanks

            Bhartiya,
Clarify what you want to do.
What are the remote commands that you want to use ?

              Here is my reqirement.....
I have two systems S1 and S2, I wrote one program to automate some process in S2. Now I need to call this program from S1. I agree with the flexibility offered by the QUOTE. But just wanted to use the best aproach....

              Thanks

                Re: Runrmtcmd

IMO your best bet is to schedule the program to run on a regular basis on the remote system. Do not play with DDM or FTP which is a waste of time to achieve your required goal.
