youll want to remove the workstation customization stuff cause that unique to tlashford but here is a config of a zebra here:

The ip is key cause without it nuttin will happen and not all zebras have a network card.

you may want to provide us with a bit more information.

Re: How to configure Zebra Thermal Printer in iSeries

      Wow, great thread!

We have Zebras, but just got a new one that is a network printer - the first network Zebra we've had.

I just searched this site for Zebra, found this thread, created the outq as listed, and it worked the first try! WOOT!

Why the PORTLF1? we have always put the outq name in there.

        Thnx

Re: How to configure Zebra Thermal Printer in iSeries

you can put whatever in there .. I prefer
AS400PROROCKS but unfortunately that is too many characters

you must also define the printer in the TLA menus

          Code:
          addlible TLABARCODE
          then type
          Code:
          LBLMENU
          Take option 9
          Code:
          9. Utility Menu
          then option 1
          Code:
          1. Configure Printers

Here is what I use to configure any thermal printer I must use on an AS/400,
figure out what's best for your printer:
"What must be done, must be well done."

Re: How to configure Zebra Thermal Printer in iSeries

By the way the RMTPRTQ parameter requires a printer queue that exists on the printer.

On Zebra printers, it depends on the print server type you are using.
For most print server the value will be 'portLF1'. And it may be case-sensitive.

Here's a chart of the values you may use:

Zebra Printers with ZebraNet Print Server (MPS1-T and MPS1-2):
'MPS_nnnnnn_TEXT' for text and Zebra bar code printers
where "nnnnnn" represents the alpha-numeric name stamped on the device.
Note: This is the default value for the ZebraNet print server; however, it can be changed by telnetting to the print server.
Zebra Printers with ZebraNet Print Server II (External) 'portLF1' for parallel port 1
              'portLF2' for parallel port 2
              'portLF3' for parallel port 3
Zebra Printers with ZebraNet Print Server II (Internal)
              'portLF1'

                msalman_ali,

If you could send the CL command used to create the printer, I will be pleased to help you out with this as I ran into troubles with the exact same model a few years ago.

                thanks.
