      Thanks for ur resonse, but FNDSTRPDM is used to find the string in file. it is asking the file name not pgm name.

        Hi

        Use FNDSTRPDM over QDDSSRC where Yours *DSPF are defined and uses MSGID You are looking for. Maybe take a look into QCLSRC too.

              If you want to know what program is sending that message, can't you just look at the call stack after you get the message. Also looking at the job log and pressing F1 will give the details of what program sent it.
              Hunting down the future ms. Ex DeadManWalks. *certain restrictions apply
