  • Copy and pasting code in RDI

I noticed that in RDi, you can control whether code is shifted to the right or overlayed when typing by by using insert/replace on the keyboard. However when pasting code from the clipboard, the existing code is always shifted to the right, insert/replace has no effect on this.

Is there a way to paste code from the clipboard in RDi without shifting existing code. I did this all the time when using SEU.

So you mean to overwrite some existing code.
Just highlight the code you want overwritten and press CTRL&V. The advantage with RDi is that the code you want to overwrite can be on one line or over many lines.

Its a little complicated but with shortcuts works good. alt r sets and ends your block copy area, while it is still selected position your cursor where you want it (looks like even a different source file works) and hit alt z to overlay.

All the options are under edit - select and selected.
