  • RDi Compare 2 members and edit 1

I need to be able to compare two source members (RPG or CL) and edit one of them. Is this possible in RDi? There used to be a Softlanding plugin for this, but they have since closed up. Is there a way to do this, or does someone else have a plugin for this?

      1. Open the member you want to edit for editing.
      2. Top menu bar: Edit > Compare File > then navigate to the member you want to compare to
      3. Select the member > OK.

The lines highlighted in red are in to compare-to member whilst those in yellow are in the compare-from member.
Non-highlighted lines are in both members.

Note that lines out of sequence between the 2 members can cause a line to be highlghted. Likewise, an extra pace character on a line can also cause the line to be highlghted.

btw... as it can get pretty confusing if there are alot of changes, I generally then additionally open the compare-to member in browse mode, then detach it and put it on my other screen. This makes it much easier to work with.

Also, there is the possibilty to compare, but not edit 2 members. Select the 2 members from the Remote System panel, right-click, the select Compare With. I find this view pretty much useless if there are many changes.
