  • iSeries Access for Web + bypass Windows Popup sign on screen

    Hi All,

Configured Tomcat for access iSeries from web & every things ok.
    This is the link

    http://192.168.180.2:20016/webaccess/iWAHome

Shows windows pop-up for Username/Password, then after iSeries sign on screen. Windows popup says

    Code:
The server 192.168.180.2 requires a username and password.

Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password
be sent in an insecure manner
(basic authentication without a secure connection).
I need to disable this windows pop-up sign on & directly route to iSeries sign on screen.
    Please give me an idea.

    Thanks

            Hi K2r400,
In my version, can i configure http server as *NONE

            Code:
Application authentication, AUTHTYPE(*APP)--This is the default type of authentication.
This means that System i Access for Web handles the authentication using HTTP basic
authentication. You do not need an Authentication Method parameter (AUTHMETHOD)
            with AUTHTYPE(*APP).

Application Server authentication, AUTHTYPE(*APPSVR), coupled with Authentication
Method of Kerberos, AUTHMETHOD(*KERBEROS)--With this method, a Kerberos principal
name is used to authenticate a user. This requires the use of V6R1 System i Access for
Web configured with WAS 6.1 or later.

            Thanks

I deeply advise you to install iSeries access for the Web on the integrated web application server.
It is very fast (much more than was) and very stable.
You will have no error message.

                      Hi K2r400,

                      2 questions,

What is the fastest sever for this
Integrated Web Server or ASF Tomcat or WAS ??
(In here I want link WAS application & i5 access for web (Green Screen) altogether..)

can anybody tell me the different between WebFacing & i5 access for web ?
(I feel, configuring i5 access for web is really easy & time saving product than horrible WebFacing converting)
