Re: Reg : HP LaserJet Pro Printer.

Please describe what you mean by "compatible".

For most printers, a good starting point is IBM's Information on Printers from Various Manufacturers page. (The page address has changed in the past, so you might need to search for it.) From that page, take the link for the printer manufacturer, which is the HP link in your case. Once on the HP page, search for the model on the page and read the columns. Some explanation of how to interpret the columns is above the tables; other details about each column are below the tables.

The first detail that indicates a problem is the Host-Based = 'Y' value. ('Host-Based' can be interpreted as meaning 'Windows only'.) That generally means that the printer is only compatible with Windows. Although it's possible to route spooled files from an AS/400-series system to print on that printer, you'll probably have difficulties if you need your server to talk directly with the printer. Routing to the printer will possibly be done by sending to a spooler queue on a PC or other print server in your network.

Depending on what you mean by "compatible", the answer can be "Yes" or "No".
