  • CVT2PDF/CVT2HTML Problem

    Hi all,

I have downloaded the CVT2PDF/CVT2HTML utilities and HTML worked first time, but CVT2PDF produces a pdf file that is not readable by Adobe.

We are using OS400 V5R2. Are there any PTFs required to make it work?

    Thanks,
    Neil

    Re: CVT2PDF/CVT2HTML Problem

These are the parameters that I used: -

    From spooled file name . . . . . > REPORT Name
    To stream file name . . . . . . > REVALUATION.HTML

    To directory . . . . . . . . . . > '/Retail'

    Job name . . . . . . . . . . . . > REVALUERET Name, *
    User . . . . . . . . . . . . . > NEILC Name
    Number . . . . . . . . . . . . > 633071 000000-999999
    Spooled file number . . . . . . > 1 1-9999, *LAST, *ONLY
    Stream file format . . . . . . . > *HTML *TEXT, *HTML, *PDF
    Stream file option . . . . . . . > *REPLACE *NONE, *ADD, *REPLACE
    Title for HTML or PDF . . . . . > 'Revaluation.html'

    From spooled file name . . . . . > REPORT Name
    To stream file name . . . . . . > REVALUATION.PDF

    To directory . . . . . . . . . . > '/Retail'

    Job name . . . . . . . . . . . . > REVALUERET Name, *
    User . . . . . . . . . . . . . > NEILC Name
    Number . . . . . . . . . . . . > 633071 000000-999999
    Spooled file number . . . . . . > 1 1-9999, *LAST, *ONLY
    Stream file format . . . . . . . > *PDF *TEXT, *HTML, *PDF
    Stream file option . . . . . . . > *REPLACE *NONE, *ADD, *REPLACE
    Title for HTML or PDF . . . . . > 'Revaluation.pdf'

Type of PDF bookmarks . . . . . *PAGNBR *PAGNBR, *POS, *KEY

    Thanks,
    Neil

      Re: CVT2PDF/CVT2HTML Problem

did you select *PDF I think if defaults to HTML
I can see from your parameters that this is indeed a HTML document.

          Your welcome Neil ---

I did an interesting thing with it here:

I created an outq called PDFEMAIL, put a dataq on the outq and then used Scott Klement's http://www.scottklement.com/base64/
tools to and send email api to send an email back to the user that put the spooled file into the outq.

I can help you thru this when you get ready... It is heavily used here.
