  • I want to call a Python program from RPG (or CL)

We are new to Python and are very excited to be learning it!! But now the big stumbling block...how can we call a Python program from an RPG program? There has GOT to be a way.

I don't use python (learned it, hated it, never used it again). But, I don't understand the problem? It is run with a standard PASE/QShell command, isn't it? So run that QShell/PASE command from RPG to run your program...

If you don't like the system-provided options for this (I know that I don't) you might consider using my UNIXCMD tool.

Thank you, Scott! I did actually download that tool and I have been looking into that. Our team really enjoyed our time at the Wisconsin conference this year. It was wonderful meeting you and sitting in your sessions!
