When you say "flat file" do you mean a program described file stored in the traditional library/file system or a text file stored on the IFS? Do you want the commas removed from the CSV or keep them intact? Are you planning on importing the data into a database file?

Hi, I need the Commas to be removed from the CSV file, and i need to copy it to either an IFS folder or to a database file defined with a single field of length 4000.

Maybe you want fixed width in the rows for readability?
I'd be looking at some vba code which maps a network drive to an IFS share and then does a file "Save As" operation (tab or space delimited) from excel to that location.

command cpytoimpf allows you tocopy to IFS.
            You can use DTAFMT *FIXED
or *DLM and mess with FLDDLM

www.Easy400.net features a free WEB utility, named FUPLOAD which allows you to upload/download any PC file to/from IFS.
