  • Externally described PF ??

I had a PF, 'TEST' and record format 'TSTREC'. It has a field TST of Char type and 300 is the length. I have defined 3 members in it.

Now i use CMPPFM over 2 other PF's and want to store it as *OUTFILE in 'TEST'(PF) and in different members.

I am getting error that 'TEST' is externally described File.

    What to do??

    Happy Friday

As far as I know the CMPPF uses IBM *Outfiles...They have specific field layouts and formats. You can always find these files in library QGPL and copy them...or from your other posts try to recreate then with multiple members.

Then in your CLLE program you can do the correct override to member then do the CMPPF with in your program.

I have posted information to create physical files and retrieve fields in your other posts.
